It has been a few weeks since we got Hot Hubbie’s resume back from the professional resume writers. I am shocked at how different it is. The resume looks great (and reads great). Apparently his original resume was “death by bullets”. Who knew? Not us.
Upon seeing the revised resume, I was very encouraged that this is exactly what we need to turn our Unemployment into Employment. A “shot in the arm,” so to speak.
No such luck.
Yet. (I am trying to stay positive)
It is becoming very discouraging that for 4 weeks we have had the resume “out there” and flooding the network again, yet have not had a single call or contact of any kind from any type of perspective employer.
Did we waste our money? Would we have been better off lighting the money on fire and burning it? It feels that way.
I know, 4 weeks is a short amount of time to know if it was “worth-it” to pay to have the résumé rewritten, but in our situation, 4 weeks can seem like forever, especially when you have such great hopes and dreams depending on the efficacy of the résumé rewrite.
So I keep praying that the resume rewrite will be money well spent. And I keep praying that we can somehow turn our luck around.
So, new resume, please work! Please, Please, Please!
